Boys are admitted to classes VI and IX and they study up to Class XII.  Only those boys who are between 10 and 11 years of age as on 01 Jul of the year of admission are eligible for admission in Class VI. For Class IX, candidates should be between 13 and 14 years of age as on 01 Jul of the year in which seeking admission.  The entry into the school is through an All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination conducted by the Sainik Schools Society, generally, in the month of January every year. Government of Andhra Pradesh is responsible for its conduct at six centres in Andhra Pradesh.  However, it is the responsibility of the Principal to complete the selection process including evaluation of answer sheets, interview etc.  The medical check up of the successful candidates is carried out at INHS Kalyani.  It may be noted that competition is very stiff for admission to this School.
